Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney 2 – Major rival of Terence Crawford and Errol Spence makes big prediction
If Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia can safely navigate their next fights, then a huge rematch between the pair is likely for later this year .
In 2024, Garcia and Haney served up one of the fights of the year and it was the former who had his hand raised after 12 rounds where he had dropped his rival three times .
Garcia’s celebrations were short-lived though as it emerged afterwards that he had failed a drugs test meaning the result was changed to a ‘No Contest.’
The bad blood between the par, going back to their amateur days, has become more intense in recent times and both men will be in action on May 2, live on DAZN , knowing that victory will open the door for their sequel.
Garcia will be in action against Rolly Romero in Times Square and on the same show, Haney will go in with former unified world champion, Jose Ramirez .
The show is intended to further marinate the feud between Garcia and Haney, and it is believed that each man winning will conform their rematch.
If that second meeting comes off, then it is likely to be one of the biggest fights of the year and people are already talking about it.
Shawn Porter, a former world champion at welterweight, is the latest high profile fight figure to deliver his verdict.
“I get annoyed. I’ve actually heard a couple people say Ryan’s got Devin’s number. And I’m like how? How does that come out of your mouth? He has Devin’s number? He doesn’t. That was one fight, one time, big moment,” said Porter on the Porter Way podcast .
“We know what was involved but I truly believe that Devin Haney beats Ryan Garcia in the rematch. I truly think that Devin is the better boxer. I think that Devin, when focused and firing on all cylinders, is just a better boxer than Ryan Garcia.”
