KSI makes shock admission about boxing retirement after pulling out of Dillon Danis fight
YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI has admitted that he is unsure if he will fight again after pulling out of yet another fight last month.
The social media star was due to face Dillon Danis last week on a Misfits Boxing card in Manchester, but was forced out with an illness. It was his second time missing a fight after last summer his two-on-one fight with Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor was cancelled due to a hand injury.
Now, he seems to be unclear on his future in the ring as he approaches two years since his last fight against Tommy Fury. In a new YouTube video, he bemoaned the issues that have surrounded his boxing run since returning in the summer of 2022.
KSI admits boxing career could be over after Dillon Danis fight cancellation
KSI has had a torrid time with his boxing career over the past few years, with almost all of his events having some degree of issue arising. He has pulled out of his last two fights, and has previously faced multiple cancellations, pull outs and controversies.
He lost his last outing to Tommy Fury by unanimous decision before launching an unsuccessful appeal to have the result overturned. This followed a fight with Joe Fournier where the result was overturned to a No Contest after he knocked his rival out with an elbow.
In a new video, he explained his frustrations with his boxing career, telling fans: βThe amount of stress Iβve gone through over the past few years. Even with Misfits in general, itβs been stressful.
βI feel like Iβve aged in these two and a half years of Misfits being created. So where am I in terms of Boxing? I donβt know. Am I going to retire? I donβt know. Am I going to fight again? I donβt know.β
Misfits Boxing boss speaks out on KSI vs Dillon Danis cancellation
Following the postponement and ultimate cancellation of KSI vs Danis, Misfits Boxing were then forced to reschedule their next non-PPV event. They moved their βBlinders and Brawlsβ show from April 12 to May 16, leading fans to be concerned about where the promotion is going.
βNot been a fun few weeks,β Misfits boss Mams Taylor wrote on X after the latest delay. βA series of unfortunate events beyond our control. Tried to replace the main event and even tried to do a non-ppv to keep the show on. Exhausted all efforts and left no stone unturned.
