Chris Eubank Jr sent ‘explosive’ warning ahead of Conor Benn fight – ‘Really dangerous’
The British boxing stars are currently in the final stages of their blockbuster showdown – which is scheduled to take place on April 26 in London
British boxing legend Amir Khan insists Conor Benn is looking ‘explosive’ ahead of his blockbuster showdown with Chris Eubank Jr.
Eubank Jr and Benn are currently in the final stages of their respective training camps ahead of their dust-up – scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The pair were due to go head-to-head back in October 2022, but their bout was scrapped just a few days before fight night after Benn failed a drugs test.
The build-up to their rescheduled fight has been marred by controversy. During the launch press conference in Manchester in February, Eubank Jr sparked chaos after slapping his upcoming rival in the face with an egg.
There is genuine animosity between the pair, who have been thrown into a family feud after the fathers’ famous fights in 1990 and 1993. With Benn – who mainly competes at 147lbs – making the huge jump up to the middleweight limit of 160lbs, Eubank Jr will have the size advantage. However, Khan insists Benn is looking explosive and a bigger puncher than his upcoming rival.

“Iβd say itβs 60β40 in favour of Eubank just because of the weight, the height, and the size. But listen, anything can happen in boxing. Conor Benn could start fast and could go straight in and knock him out early. The way heβs been trainingβhe looks explosive. Iβve been watching his train for the Eubank fight, and he looks really dangerous. I think heβs got that love back again. You need that dancing partner to bring the hunger back, and I think Eubank is that guy.”
Speaking ahead of the epic clash, Eubank Jr is confident he can get the job done on fight night despite all of the negative noise. “The fight will be one of a kind. It has never happened in boxing,” he said. “No two fighters have had fathers who were world champions and fought in massive fights 30-odd years ago with the entire country watching.
